Sorry for the delay...Been really busy...Had a lot on my plate these last couple of weeks...I've been playing kiss up to grad school people so somebody will let me act up in their program...Also had to take the GRE again...Didn't do that well this time either...Did I say last time how I hate standardized test...I mean what do they confirm? That you can take a test...BIG FREAKIN DEAL! How does this sound to you..."You have a wonderful resume...Your grades in undergrad were very good too...Your statement of purpose was one of the best we've heard in a long time...But your GRE score is not the best...We can't except you into our program cause your GRE score doesn't fit what we are looking for..." So basically what you are telling me is that I got 3 out of 4...BUT you are gonna put me on the back shelf because of a test that has nothing to do with my academic performance?
*Shaking Head*
But I'm not gonna worry about it cause somebody out their wants me...Man that felt good to get that off my chest...I over it now...But that was what pulled me away from ya'll...And just being plain old lazy...My bad...Will not let it happen again...But ya'll didn't come to hear about this type of stuff...Ya'll came for the mess we called "THROUGH MY EYES"...Anyway...
Well I went to go see it that day after it came out...I just want to say I haven't laugh that hard in a long time...I needed that one...But I thought it was a great movie...I mean I'm not talking about it was Oscar Award winning or anything...But it will win a Pookie...A lot of critiques talked terrible about it, but in the hood it got rave revues...But what I remember the most about my night at cinema with the 1st Lady (lil shot-out) was feeling like we were so under-dressed...I mean you saw women coming to the movies dressed like this sistah right here...
Straight from the Regional COGIC Convention...I mean dang...Its the movie...Black folks in their dressed in suits, gators, and stuff like they were going to the play or something...I thought it was a trip...But it took a nigga like me to point that out...Did that happen to you in your DOAMBW experience?
Change Subject...
Okay my break light is out on my car...Some dude scared the living hell out of me by rolling up on my car in the middle of the ran to tell me that bit of information...It wasn't the fact that it was raining and it was some random dude that scared me...It was the fact that he looked just like this dude...
Now you know I have to hook you up with the visual...I mean straight red neck...Flag waving in the back and everything...Wouldn’t you be petrified?
Have you figured out yet that I see all the weird stuff...For instance...I saw a white lady in about her 50s with a G-Unit baby-t on the other day...Maybe this stuff only happens in Memphis...I don't know...
Well I got to go...I gotta act like I'm doing something productive...I hope you all have a great day...
I'll keep you posted

the GREs are such a pain in the ass. Last year when I was in your position, I felt the same anxiety about being admitted to Ph.D. programs. But there's hope bro, seriously! I did relatively weakly on the GREs but was still admitted into the Ph.D. programs of NYU, Berkeley, and Northwestern. Many Literature and Cultural Studies (in all of its many variations, African American Studies; American Studies, etc.) care very little for the GRE--it's the actual SCHOOL that forces the department to crack down on it. Let me know if you need any advice on grad school man---I'm always about putting other brothas in the academy. Best.
1. My GRE scores weren't the greatest either, but Princeton still gave a brutha a full ride nonetheless. I agree with Frank, standardized test are just one of many parts of the gard school app, and far from the most important. Good luck!
2. Looks like American Idol's Travis took your throwback thursday jam a lil too seriously.
3. I know levity and satire are usually your thing, but I have something serious for you to check out on my site. A call to action addressed to you, directly. Let me know what you can do.

good luck in grad school!
Im sorry, but with the exception of the Madea parts, i thought that movie sucked. It dragged a lot; shemar and Kimberly elise were competing for the worst movie wig ever with Jada Pinkett from the Nutty professor
welcome back! man...i am NOT looking forward to the GRE...everytime someone tell me about it, i get scared....and you can type and vent about the GRE and grad school if you want, shhh, i vent on my blog all the time! it doesnt always have to be silly things...
and i didnt get a chance to see the movie because the night i went when it came out, right after choir rehearsal, it was sold out, so i still didnt get a chance to see it....
LOL@straight from the regional COGIC Covention, hecky naw! man, you just reminded me of this weekend at my church...they had a appreciation for our minister of music because he plays for so many churchs in the community down here at my school, but he's from a Cogic church, and our church is a baptist church...mannnn, after everyone left, i swear there was SO MUCH sequence, glitter, and feather ont he pews of our church.....i guess they REALLY dress to impress! i mean maybe women at baptist churchs do to, but i mean dang! glitter, sequence and feathers?! This lady had ONE feather in her head! lol, i'm going off subject here, and babbling, sorry...
that dude's stomach is ridiculous, and yea WTF?@that last pic?
that is full-out no-peaches-in-the-cobbler IGNUNT!
Okay, you got me about to pee my pants reading this posting. WTF is up with dude's stomach? Hilarious!
And I agree with you, standardized testing is not an indicator of ones intelligence. There are plenty of ppl who don't do well on it, but'll run circles around the ones who ace it. I know too many people who've graduated with Master's that can't spell or string together a coherent sentence, but they tested well.
You'll get into the right school. Just keep pushing. And keep posting those crazy azz pics. LOL
