Throwback Thursday...

Okay every Thursday I am going to post the lyrics to some flashback hit...So here it goes...

Gangsta Lean-D.R.S. Capitol/1993

This song’s dedicated to my homies in that gangsta lean
Why’d you have to go so soon
It’s seems like yesterday we were hangin’ ‘round the hood
Now I’m gonna keep your memory alive like a homey should

A lifetime of memories
Goin’ down the drain
I’d like to keep steppin’
But I can’t get past the pain

I tip my 40 to your memory
Take a drink and I start to think and I
I know one day soon
We’ll be, we’ll be hangin’ out

This is for my homies
This is for my homies, well, well
See you when I get there
In that gangsta lean, in that gangsta lean

This is for my homies
This is for my homies, well
See you when I get there
In that gangsta lean, in that gangsta lean

My God, my God
Could you pass on a message for me, ha
Tell him to put down those dice for a second, Lord
Listen to his homey

Could you tell him I’ll never let go
Of his memory so his son will know, huh
You don’t have to cry no more
‘Cause God’s got his back, I said God’s got his back

A lifetime of memories (A lifetime of memories)
Goin’ down the drain (Goin’ down the drain)
I’d like to keep steppin’ (I would)
But I can’t (Oh, no) get past the pain

I tip my 40 to your memory
Take a drink and I start to think and I
I know one day soon
We’ll be, we’ll be hangin’ out

This is for my homies
This is for my homies
See you when I get there
In that gangsta lean, in that gangsta lean

This is for my homies
You know I miss you, you know I miss you, my homey
See you when I get there
In that gangsta lean, in that gangsta lean

This song is dedicated to my homies in that gangsta lean
Tommy from Masters Touch
My boy YB, and my boy Emir
And whoever else out there got a homey that’s in a gangsta lean
And also my boys in the pen, and they gon’ never see the street again
‘Cause you know what
It don’t matter what they was doin’ while they was here
They coulda been bangin’, slangin’, but they ain’t here no more
Now somebody’s daddy, somebody’s baby, that’s somebody’s homey
So go on let ‘em rest in peace while they’re in that gangsta lean
You know what I’m sayin’
That’s on the real, loc

This is for my homies
I can’t believe that you’re gone
See you when I get there
I’ll see you, I’ll see you, I’ll see you

This is for my homies
Now that you’re in that gangsta lean, well, well, well
See you when I get there
I’m so sorry you’re gone, but I’ve got to keep on

This is for my homies
I gotta movin’, I gotta keep movin, I gotta keep movin’, movin’, movin’, movin’
See you when I get there
I’ll see you, I’ll see you one day, some day, hopefully some day

This is for my homies
This is for my homies, yeah
See you when I get there
In that gangsta lean, in that gangsta lean

It is like that now.....Have you forgotten about me...do I not get any love or shout outs....A sister walk through a little something and stop blogging hard for a minute and this is what I come back to....being off your "Da Crew" list?

I am hurt....but your post is still funny. I have been discarded as a "has been" writer...is this how all writing careers end?

So...do you put "I'll keep you posted" at the end of all your entries as well as comments? Huh? Huh? Your moniker needs to be "I'll keep you posted" man. hee hee Hey...but on the real, I'll keep you posted. Peace!
Oh....about DRS. Although I really tried to hate this song, it stuck in my head and I somehow liked it...a little bit. LOL

YES!!!
that was the J-A-muthaphukin'-M!!
Sad thing is EVERYBODY knew someone that had been shot and killed in the streets, so they felt like they had a personal investment in the song like... "yo dawg, turn dat sh*t up. this joint 'minds me of tyrone's a$$ everytime i hear it" *sniff sniff* "dat was my nigga, yo!"

and even if you were a wangsta from the suburbs, you'd INVENT a distant cousin who was shot, just so you could be down!

LOL
